The IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Programme "Greece – Albania 2007-2013” continued its activities during the first half of 2012, without encountering any problems. Its main activities are described below:
1st Call Project Implementation
The modification of the budgets of the approved Projects of the 1st Call for Proposals, in order to be compatible with the Programme’s Joint Steering Committee decision, has been concluded. The Programme is currently in the midst of a dynamic process for the signing of the Subsidy Contracts. In order to provide all relevant information regarding project implementation and reporting, training seminars for project partners will be organised both in Greece and Albania within the next months.
Preparation of the 2nd Call for Proposals
The next significant milestone for the Programme is the announcement of the 3rd Call for Proposals this autumn, which will be published in June 2012. Information events for potential applicants will be organized in Greece and Albania.
Preparation of the Call for Proposals for Strategic Projects
At the same time a Call for Proposals for Strategic Projects is under way. The Greek regions have already identified their thematic priorities in the fields of environment, entrepreneurship and touristic routes. Albania is currently identifying its own thematic priorities, in order to reach a common ground for the launch of the Call for Proposals for Strategic Projects. The Call will be published until the end of the year.

Participation in the European Cooperation Day on September 21st. The Programme will participate in the European Cooperation Day on September 21st, which will be celebrated for the first time this year on a European level and under the auspices celebrations of the European Commission. A communication event in the eligible area will be organized, aiming to the information of the citizens in the eligible areas on the Programme’s goals.
